5 Things I Learnt In 2016

In this article i want to be honest with you

and i want to give you a glimpse into what i’ve seen over the last
10 years as a personal trainer and business owner and i want to share with
you why NOW is more crucial than ever to get things right.

Especially after what i’ve seen in 2016 and i’m not going to pull any punches here.

I’m not looking to offend you but as a person with a responsibility in the fitness
industry that very few others have the positioning that i have, i feel that i have
to let you know what i’m seeing.

1. People are in worse shape but expecting FASTER results

I have to be honest with you.

The statistics are against you. 8/10 U.K. adults between 40 and 60
are overweight and in worse health than ever.

You’re eating too many processed foods, too much fat, not enough good
foods, drinking too much alcohol and on top of that getting little to
no exercise.

It’s only going one way and it doesn’t look good.

But what i’ve seen this year more than ANY other years is that people
who are in worse health and worse habits are expecting FASTER results than
ever before.

It’s ludicrous. You need to take the time to learn how to get into better
health, better habits and better shape. If it’s been years since you were happy
with your body, it’s not going to change in just 12 weeks for nine times out of ten

You need more time and more consistency.

2. Fad diets are on the rise even more

Let me be 100% straight with you.

If ANYONE tries to ‘help’ you get into shape based on a product
or a supplement. It will NEVER WORK for life.

and that includes

  • Weightloss Shakes
  • Weightloss Pills
  • Juices and Cleanses
  • Meal Replacements
  • Detoxes
  • Chemicals to stop you absorbing fat
  • Even medical and cosmetic surgeries

Real food (protein, fats, carbs) and real exercise (structured weights and cardio)
are the only SAFE, effective and sustainable ways to get in shape.

It’s your habits that must change, not the fad you choose to follow.

3. People are fed up with gyms in general.

Why? because for most people they don’t get any support, guidance or help
after they’ve joined.

I’m seeing this year that more and more people don’t want gyms or diets or exercise programs, they want

More and more people are prepared to pay for a higher level of service and
rightly so expect better and more results.

Which sometimes still brings us back to #1.

You still have to give it more time and commitment for it to work.

4. There is a ladies revolution going on.

Onto a more positive note.

You ladies?

Starting to KICK ASS.

What i’m a huge proponant of is women lifting weights. Why?

Because it freaking works! and works better than cardio and classes
that’s for sure

When i visit other gyms, i’m seeing women giving weights a go.

It makes me proud as punch to know that you’re putting yourself out of your
comfort zone in some cases to learn more about how to get in shape and weight training?

Literally the key to that.

5. More and more GOOD information is making it’s way to you.

Despite #2

More and more good information IS making it’s way to you;

Fat isn’t the devil
Carbs don’t make you fat
Coffee doens’t crush your adrenals
Weight training is good for both Men and Women
and protein isn’t just for bodybuilders.

The information IS out there if you know where to look.

So there you have it.

Not all bad but a complete honest insight as to what i see and maybe some of the reasons you are or aren’t getting results right now.
